Evaluation Rubric Alignment – Read This First

AI Solutions Strategist – Medical Writing · Indegene (via Zodiac Solutions → Mapout Digital)
Round 1 addendum · 2026-08-03
Source Shushant Mishra, Senior Technical Recruiter, Zodiac Solutions – guidance received after your résumé was represented on 07/29/2026, listing the client's actual 1–5 weighted evaluation criteria for this seat.
The client's own framing – read this before the call Zodiac's exact words: the client is "not necessarily primarily focused on medical writers… the role will need to be more invested in collaboration with the client in the readiness of technology and alignment to expectations, problem solving requirements, addressing the project moving forward." That is a delivery-and-client-partnership seat wearing a "medical writer" job title, not a career-authorship role. The earlier Round 1 primer's heavy defense of "I don't have a literal medical writer title" over-invests in the one criterion this rubric weights lowest. Lead with regulatory depth, business judgment, and client relationship — keep the authorship answer short and confident, not the centerpiece.

5 Life Science R&D Clinical & Regulatory Experience 42 years licensed Registered Pharmacist / Registered Nuclear Pharmacist under continuous NRC and FDA oversight (1984–present). Amgen: hands-on ICH/CTD content structuring with clinical writers for FDA NDA submissions (CMC Module 3, expanded to Safety/Efficacy Modules 4–5). J&J MedTech: FDA + EU MDR dual-compliance data transformation across global divisions. Cardinal Health: regulatory compliance and FDA product distribution across 80+ radiopharmacies. "This is the criterion my entire career sits inside — 42 years of continuous, licensed practice under FDA and NRC oversight, not a credential I hold on the side."
4 Business Acumen COO, Alliance Mobile Financial (P&L ownership). Executive Director of Innovation, Cardinal Health (won $300M+ in contract violation claims, $2M+ annual MDM savings). $750K annual cost reduction, J&J MedTech AWS migration. Vendor procurement (RFP/RFI) and contract analysis across multiple engagements. "I've owned the P&L and the vendor relationship side of this, not just the technical delivery side."
4 Customer Centricity Nearly the entire career since 2013 is corp-to-corp consulting through 4Shadow Analytix — direct, continuous client-facing delivery, not internal-only roles. Executive communication and stakeholder management named explicitly across Amgen, Evernorth, J&J MedTech engagements. "I've been the client-facing consultant, not the person three layers back from the client, for over a decade."
4 Technically Adept Self-hosted LLM infrastructure (vLLM, Qwen3-32B) at production scale. Multi-cloud: AWS, Azure, GCP. Full MLOps stack: Kubernetes, MLflow, GitHub Actions CI/CD. This is breadth beyond what NEXT's own platform requires, not a stretch to meet it. "The platform-specific configuration is a learning curve; the underlying technical depth is not."
3 Knowledge & Understanding of Generative AI NewsRx: production agentic writing pipeline, four-layer quality framework, 88% reviewer preference. Amgen: GenAI-to-SCA feedback loop under GxP change control. Note the weight here (3) is lower than Life Science Regulatory (5) — don't over-index the call on AI architecture detail at the expense of the regulatory story. "The AI is the tool; the regulatory discipline is what makes the output usable."
2 Project Management SAFe 6.0 Product Owner (Amgen), managed 8-person team (Optum/United Healthcare), Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. Mention briefly if asked; it's not where the client's weight sits. "I've run this as a Product Owner under SAFe, but that's not the centerpiece of what I bring here."
2 Hands-on in Medical Writing Revised 2026-08-04, stronger than previously scored. Pharmacy school: contributed to preparing an IND (Investigational New Drug application) for human injection of radiolabeled white blood cells, direct authorship of a formal FDA regulatory submission, not adjacent governance. Amgen: had to understand the scientific/medical writing itself deeply enough to validate that AI-generated output matched what the medical writers actually needed, real hands-on medical-writing literacy, expressed as quality validation rather than original authorship. This is the lowest-weighted criterion, so still don't over-invest room time here, but the honest answer is stronger than "I haven't personally authored," not just a defense of a gap. "I contributed to preparing an IND for human injection of radiolabeled white blood cells back in pharmacy school, and at Amgen I had to understand the scientific writing deeply enough to validate that our AI output actually matched what the medical writers needed. That's real hands-on medical-writing literacy, just not a career spent as a career author."
The adoption playbook to cite unprompted (applied literature, corroborated by Indegene's own 2026-07-31 earnings call) The literature names an explicit "adoption strategist vs. platform architect" split that maps directly onto this rubric: the strategist secures sponsorship, builds cross-functional consensus, designs a phased low-risk-first rollout (start with high-volume, structured, writer-owned document types like CSRs/patient narratives to bank a visible win), frames the tool as leveling seniority, not replacing craft (juniors and seniors both draft at a higher floor — not "AI takes your job"), and ties a risk-based tiered governance model (low-risk automated, medium/high-risk gets dedicated human sign-off) to trust-building, not just compliance. Concrete number to cite: Merck/MSD cut CSR first-draft authoring time from ~180 to ~80 hours with a 50% error reduction across data, messaging, citation, and terminology categories.

Question that reveals the most: ask what their current tiered-review/sign-off model looks like today — the answer tells you whether this seat designs change management from scratch or operates a structure that already exists.
